Egg: No record of this egg is available, as it was only recorded on three occasions, and each time it was assumed to be a common species, until the early larva was seen. However, based on the size of the early larva, an estimate is given in the box above.
Larva: The green/yellow pigment pattern of the early larva is similar to Polysteganus undulosus (LIIIB1), and the later larva (C), is similar to Diplodus sargus (LIIIC1). B: 2 days, C: 4 days (22°C).
This species was only recognised in three separate samples collected from 25-30 September 2000. It is almost certainly a sparid. Unfortunately it has not been found since, so no barcode sequences are available for this larva.
